Hospital Attendant- Patient Transporter (Part Time Day Shift 9:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
About The Position
At Stony Brook Medicine, our Hospital Attendants are valuable members of our team, and are primarily responsible for transporting patient and supplies throughout the hospital. This position is part-time with day shift hours from 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM. Stony Brook Medicine is a smoke-free environment, and smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere on campus. This position may require wearing respiratory protection, which may prohibit facial hair. It may also be designated as "essential," meaning employees may be required to remain at or report to work during institutional emergencies to protect, recover, and continue operations.
Requirements
- Ability to perform medium to heavy physical labor.

Responsibilities
- Transport patients/equipment and supplies to all areas of the hospital in a timely and efficient manner with a courteous customer service attitude.
- Locate equipment for inventory replenishment.
- Transport the deceased to the hospital morgue.
- Wash equipment in the equipment washing area of Transport Services.
- Monitor dispatching by answering phones, logging calls, and dispatching Personnel.
- Perform daily scheduled runs for the delivery of reports, supplies, and Medical Records.
- Ensure all services are performed efficiently, respond to service issues, and take appropriate remedial action.
