About The Position

Acts is currently seeking qualified candidates for our Hospice Volunteer & Bereavement Coordinator position. In this role, you will be responsible for recruiting, orienting, supervising, and retaining volunteers. You will ensure and document that active volunteer hours provided within hospice, at a minimum, equal five percent (5%) of total participant hours of all paid hospice staff’s direct care hours, and assure that volunteers are documenting their visits. You will also be responsible for screening all volunteers (criminal background check and references) before service is provided, and maintaining personnel records for volunteers, including evaluations, competencies, and summary of service records. Additionally, you will be responsible for making sure that bereavement assessments and plan of care are completed, attend IDT meetings, provide grief support to bereaved, volunteers, community staff/residents and hospice staff, organize the annual Memorial Service, and share on-call responsibility.

Requirements

  • College education and demonstrated experience in a social work, volunteer recruitment, or prior work/training in bereavement, loss, or grief.
