About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice provides gentle hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets and their families in the comfort of their homes. We are seeking a Compassionate Veterinarian to practice meaningful medicine without the fast pace and pressure of a traditional clinic. This role allows for independent practice on the road with strong team support, focusing on providing compassionate end-of-life care. The position emphasizes a schedule built around the veterinarian's life, with flexible scheduling options and a focus on well-being and growth.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD/BVMS)
• Valid U.S. Driver's License
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and up to 90 lbs with assistance
• Completion of license verification, background check, and driving record review

Responsibilities

• Provide gentle hospice and in-home euthanasia care to pets.
• Practice medicine at a pace that allows for full presence with pets and families.
• Sit with families, answer difficult questions with kindness, and help them say goodbye with dignity and peace.
• Work independently on the road while having a supportive team available.
• Manage a limited number of appointments per day to allow for thorough care and explanation.
• Choose weekend work days that fit personal life and commitments.
