About The Position

The Hospice Spiritual Care Coordinator provides direct spiritual care for patients and families, addressing the spiritual needs and issues of the dying and their families. This role involves coordinating and evaluating spiritual care volunteers, assisting with the orientation of new employees and volunteers, and helping develop and participate in memorial services for patients and the agency. The coordinator will also assist the Interdisciplinary Team in understanding ethical, religious, and spiritual issues, and support outreach to congregations and community groups for education on Hospice services. Flexibility is required to meet patient/family needs and speaking requests that may occur in the evenings and weekends, and availability for emergency situations is necessary.

Requirements

  • A degree or certificate in Pastoral Counseling/Spiritual Director; MDIV; or related field from an accredited school or university.
  • Ability to provide care in diverse living situations, to diverse patient populations (racial, ethnic, religious, sexual orientation, age, and social class).
  • Ability to drive and have a valid Ohio driver's license.
  • Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or two (2) years related clinical work experience.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license.
