With the same integrity, skill and passion, we also provide supplemental staffing for several healthcare companies in the metro area including assisted living facilities, skilled nursing facilities, hospice agencies and group homes. This job post is exclusively for the role of staffing for these healthcare companies. In this role, the RN will work for about 3 months for a home hospice company making home visits. The RN is responsible for overseeing clinical care, developing and implementing the care plan, providing training and supervision to Home Health Aids and LPNs, and coordinating care with other members of the interdisciplinary team. The RN provided care and education to the patient and family at end of life.

Requirements

  • Current unrestricted RN license in GA
  • Current CPR (American Heart Association) Certification
  • Proof of Negative TB test within the last 12 months
  • Valid GA driver's license
  • Insured and reliable automobile
  • Ability to work independently and with directions
  • Compassionate and friendly demeanor
  • Ability to speak, read and write English fluently
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to lift and transfer adult patients safely and without restriction

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with Elderly, Hospice and Dementia patients is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee clinical care
  • Develop and implement the care plan
  • Provide training and supervision to Home Health Aids and LPNs
  • Coordinate care with other members of the interdisciplinary team
  • Provide care and education to the patient and family at end of life
  • Assess patients’ condition during every visit and document any observations
  • Take and record measurements of vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, heart rate etc.
  • Administer medication as ordered by the physician
  • Dress or redress open wounds and assess progress of healing
  • Continuously educate patients, their families and other caretakers on proper care strategies and procedures
  • Provide hospice/palliative care as needed to keep the client comfortable
  • Make recommendations for devices, tools or DME that might improve the client’s quality of life
  • Listen to patients and families and be prepared to respond to concerns or requests
