About The Position

This is a Part-time Hospice RN position requiring 2 shifts per month (1 weekday and 1 weekend shift). The territory includes Racine/Kenosha, South Milwaukee, and Burlington/Walworth. The role involves developing and maintaining therapeutic relationships, ensuring quality care, educating patients and families, utilizing the nursing process, and demonstrating leadership and collaboration. The position requires a valid RN license, current CPR, and a valid driver's license. A graduate from an accredited school of nursing with 1 year of medical nursing experience is required. The role demands good communication, documentation, computer, time management, and organizational skills, along with familiarity with patient care equipment. Physical requirements include the ability to work weekends, holidays, and different shifts, respond to on-call assignments, handle multiple tasks, transport objects, respond quickly to patient needs, work at a fast pace, and lift up to 100 pounds occasionally. Travel within the Advocate service area in all weather conditions is necessary, with exposure to varying social and environmental conditions. Occasional overtime may be required. Visits to private residences may not be accessible to people with disabilities. The role also involves assisting with ambulation and transferring patients up to 200 pounds, with specific lifting requirements for direct patient care.

Requirements

• Nurse, Registered (RN)
• Current CPR
• A valid driver’s license issued by the Division of Motor Vehicles.
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• Earn 5.0 continuing education credits annually
• 1 year of medical nursing experience with various age groups.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
