About The Position

At Hillcrest Hospice, you’ll have the opportunity to focus on what brought you to nursing in the first place—providing exceptional care, building meaningful relationships, and making a difference for patients and families. Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for an experienced, compassionate, and clinically strong Hospice RN to serve patients and families throughout Lincoln and the surrounding communities. You’ll provide one-on-one care, manage symptoms, coordinate individualized plans of care, and support patients and families through one of life’s most important stages. Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of nursing experience required.
  • Strong clinical assessment, symptom-management, and care-coordination skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with patients and families during sensitive and emotional situations.
  • Ability to work independently while remaining connected to the interdisciplinary team.
  • Strong organization, documentation, and follow-through.
  • A calm, flexible, and professional approach in changing or urgent situations.
  • A compassionate, patient-centered approach to end-of-life care.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
  • Active Registered Nurse license in Nebraska, Iowa, or a compact state required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Reliable transportation and current automobile insurance required.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association required.

Nice To Haves

  • Hospice, home health, palliative care, oncology, geriatric, or other relevant nursing experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate care for your patients while working closely with families, caregivers, physicians, and our interdisciplinary hospice team.
