About The Position

Looking for nursing that feels meaningful again? At Hillcrest Hospice, you’ll have the opportunity to focus on what brought you to nursing in the first place—providing exceptional care, building meaningful relationships, and making a difference for patients and families. Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for an experienced, compassionate, and clinically strong Hospice RN to serve patients and families throughout Lincoln and the surrounding communities. You’ll provide one-on-one care, manage symptoms, coordinate individualized plans of care, and support patients and families through one of life’s most important stages. Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of nursing experience required.
  • Strong clinical assessment, symptom-management, and care-coordination skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with patients and families during sensitive and emotional situations.
  • Ability to work independently while remaining connected to the interdisciplinary team.
  • Strong organization, documentation, and follow-through.
  • A calm, flexible, and professional approach in changing or urgent situations.
  • A compassionate, patient-centered approach to end-of-life care.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
  • Active Registered Nurse license in Nebraska, Iowa, or a compact state required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Reliable transportation and current automobile insurance required.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association required.

Nice To Haves

  • Hospice, home health, palliative care, oncology, geriatric, or other relevant nursing experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate care for patients while working closely with families, caregivers, physicians, and the interdisciplinary hospice team.
  • Provide one-on-one care.
  • Manage symptoms.
  • Coordinate individualized plans of care.
  • Support patients and families through one of life’s most important stages.
