About The Position

Residential Home Health and Hospice is a nationally recognized leader in home health and hospice, and a consistent Top Workplace. We are hiring an After Hours Registered Nurse (RN) for a Hospice position providing end-of-life care to patients in their homes in the Lisle, IL area. This role involves delivering compassionate, patient-centered care, responding to after-hours and on-call patient needs, and supporting patients and families during evenings, nights, and weekends. The position requires strong clinical judgment, independent work with team support, and travel to patient homes.

Requirements

Active Registered Nurse, RN license in the state you work.
Two years of RN experience and the clinical expertise to deliver quality patient care.
Current driver’s license and ability to spend ~20% of your day driving to/from patient locations.
Successful completion of a drug screen prior to employment is part of our background process, which includes medical and recreational marijuana.
Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Hospice experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a hospice setting, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team dedicated to comfort, dignity, and quality of life.
Respond to after-hours and on-call patient needs by performing urgent assessments, managing symptoms and pain, and providing compassionate end-of-life support in real time.
Support and guide patients and families during evenings, nights, weekends, and crisis situations, ensuring they feel informed, reassured, and cared for throughout the hospice journey.
Apply strong clinical judgment and critical thinking to coordinate care needs, respond to changing patient conditions, and maintain accurate, timely, and compliant EMR documentation.
Work independently, but never alone.
Travel to patient homes within assigned territory.
