About The Position

Sage Group HealthCare Staffing is seeking an RN Hospice for a 13-week travel/contract position in Branson, MO. This role involves providing and coordinating care for assigned hospice patients in their homes, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and supporting patient recovery to enable them to spend quality time with loved ones. The position also includes educating patients and families on disease management, providing hospice nursing care within professional standards, ensuring physician orders are transcribed correctly, assessing patients' status, notifying physicians of changes, completing charting within 24 hours, and offering bereavement support to families. The nurse will cover territories within a 90-minute radius of the office in Branson, MO, without crossing the AR border.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse: 1 year - Required
  • Recent/Current Hospice Nursing experience: 1 year with the last 3 years – Required
  • Must have valid Driver’s License and Personal Auto Insurance
  • Must be Covid Vaccinated or provide medical or religious exemption
  • ASN or an equivalent – Required
  • RN License for State applying or Compact if accepted - Required
  • BLS Certification from AHA or American Red Cross - Required

Nice To Haves

  • Home Care Home Base (HCHB) charting experience – Preferred
  • BSN or an equivalent – Highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate care for assigned hospice patients in comfort of their homes.
  • Develop and implement nursing care plans including Start of Care and admissions as assigned.
  • Support patient recovery and ability to stay at home - enabling them to spend quality time with their loved ones and doing the activities they enjoy.
  • Empower patients and families to reach healthcare goals by educating them on disease management.
  • Provide Hospice nursing care and services within the standards and scope of nursing practice as defined within the state Nurse Practice Act regulations, policies, procedures, and protocols, as well as facility and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Ensure physicians’ orders are legible if taken verbally and transcribed appropriately per policy and procedure.
  • Ensure patients’ status is assessed on an ongoing basis and pertinent information is gathered and documented.
  • Notify physicians of significant changes in status.
  • Document and complete charting for all patient visits within 24 hours.
  • Provide bereavement support to patient’s families as needed.
