About The Position

HopeWest is seeking a Hospice Registered Nurse for their Montrose Community Hospice. This role focuses on relationship-based care, teamwork, and providing compassionate care to patients and families in their homes, nursing homes, group homes, or assisted living facilities. Hospice Nurses act as teachers, helping patients identify personal goals of care and empowering caregivers. They are specialists in symptom management, requiring strong assessment and critical thinking skills. Primary RNs manage an assigned caseload and lead the interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

Minimum 1-2 years of nursing experience preferred.
Experience in home health, hospice, or acute care strongly preferred.
Current Colorado RN license maintained throughout employment.
Current CPR certification maintained throughout employment.
Valid Colorado driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to navigate emotional or high-stress situations with professionalism and compassion.
Experience with EHR systems and Microsoft Office applications.
