About The Position

Join Ascension as a Physician in an employed position within a busy, well-respected inpatient practice, supported by a strong referral base and a robust health system network. The Physician will provide consultation services Monday through Friday as part of an established Palliative Care Service and collaborate with physicians, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Social Workers, and Chaplains. The role also offers opportunities to participate in quality committees and teach medical trainees, with excellent office support staff. The practice is based at a 387-bed hospital with Level II trauma services, a dedicated Neurosurgery floor, a major Stroke Center, a well-regarded Neurosurgery Program, a 36-bed ICU, 24/7 Intensivist service, and an integrated referral network. Requirements

Board Certified in Palliative Care Hospice.
Eligible for an Illinois medical license and DEA/Controlled Substance registration.
MD or DO degree required.
Physician MD/DO credentialing from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation is required prior to the hire date or job transfer date.

Nice To Haves

Advanced Life Support certification is preferred; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.

Responsibilities

Provide palliative care consultation services in an inpatient practice, Monday through Friday.
