About The Position

Residential Home Health and Hospice is seeking a Music Therapist for a Hospice position. This role involves providing care to patients in their homes in the Ann Arbor area. The Music Therapist will deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a hospice setting, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team dedicated to comfort, dignity, and quality of life. The position requires providing music therapy services in accordance with hospice care plans to promote comfort, emotional support, relaxation, and overall quality of life for patients and families. The therapist will also educate and support patients and caregivers through therapeutic music interventions, responding to emotional and comfort needs with professionalism, empathy, and flexibility throughout the end-of-life journey. The role involves working independently, traveling to patient homes within an assigned territory, and being part of a supportive team with opportunities for growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Music Therapy degree
  • Current Board certified (MT-BC) credential according to U. S. Certification Board for Music Therapists
  • State music therapy licensing where required
  • At least six (6) months of work/education experience with geriatric health care
  • At least six (6) months of work /education experience with end-of-life/terminal illness health care
  • Current driver’s license and ability to spend ~20% of your day driving to/from patient locations

  • Work independently but never alone.
  • Travel to patient homes within assigned territory.
