Utilizes music therapy interventions to address emotional, spiritual, physical, and cognitive goals with hospice and palliative care patients and their families. Provides music therapy services in homes, facilities, and inpatient units. Consults with referring teams and other Integrative Therapists, participates in care conferences, and conducts assessments. Completes required records and reports, and educates hospice staff about the role of the Music Therapist. Engages in continual program development and evaluation of music therapy services, including assessing and maintaining music therapy equipment. Assists with support groups, bereavement follow-up, and orientation of new employees and volunteers. Available for emergency situations and flexible in meeting patient/family needs, including evenings and weekends. Follows appropriate infection control policies. Consults with team members on the use of music, and is involved in the development and supervision of the internship program and interns. Conducts in-service programs, assists with public relations, and participates in agency committees. Participates in the on-call rotation for counseling services for weekends and holidays.
