About The Position

Moments Hospice is hiring a Music Therapist to provide personalized music therapy interventions that help alleviate patients’ symptoms and create a more peaceful, comfortable environment during their final days. The role offers autonomy and variety in hospice care, collaboration with the clinical team, on-call support, structured training, and educational development opportunities. The position is described as “On The Road.”

Requirements

• Experience as a Music Practitioner or graduation from a program focused on music as an intervention for health and wellness.
• Board certification as a Music Therapist by the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT).
• Musical intelligence and mastery of at least one instrument.
• Understanding of hospice philosophy and comfort providing specialized care to terminally ill patients.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow safety rules and regulations, including Vulnerable Adult/Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, and Right to Know.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist patients in music therapy interventions.
• Use music to reduce symptoms such as anxiety, depression, isolation, and agitation.
• Educate the clinical team about when music therapy is appropriate and about contraindications.
• Maintain accurate clinical notes, charts, and coordination notes within 24 hours of sessions, and update them as needed.
