About The Position

Good Samaritan Hospice, a mission of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, provides compassionate home care, facility based, and inpatient hospice services to our patients and their families. Our home care coverage area spreads throughout several counties in Western Pennsylvania with inpatient locations in Wexford, Cabot, and Beaver. The Good Samaritan Hospice team works together to provide relief through pain control and symptom management, while offering emotional, social and spiritual support for the patient and family. Hospice Registered Nurse (Inpatient Unit – Wexford) Good Samaritan Hospice is currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in providing exceptional care to patients and families in our Inpatient Unit located in Wexford, PA. This full-time position consists of three (3) 12-hour shifts per week, with required daylight and overnight availability, as well as participation in a weekend and holiday rotation. Position Summary As a Registered Nurse in the inpatient hospice setting, you will deliver skilled, patient-centered nursing care in accordance with individualized care plans collaboratively developed by the patient and/or family, attending physician, and the hospice interdisciplinary team. Your role is essential in ensuring the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients and their families are compassionately met during end-of-life care.

Requirements

  • Current RN license in the State of Pennsylvania (required)
  • Demonstrated strong clinical assessment and care skills
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Word
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years of direct patient care experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and physical exams at the beginning of each shift and as needed
  • Provide direct personal care, including but not limited to: Bathing, grooming, and dressing, Feeding and vital sign monitoring, Ambulation and positioning, Transfers, hygiene, and skin care, Light housekeeping and meal preparation
  • Offer holistic care to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients; support families throughout the end-of-life journey, including at the time of death
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of clinical documentation
