Our Hospice Nurses care for patients at the end of their lives. Their main responsibility is to help people live as comfortably and independently as possible and with the least amount of pain, in their final days. One of the largest parts of being a Hospice Nurse involves helping patients, and their families, feel more comfortable about death and providing them with the emotional support they need. Our RNs go beyond that and care for the patient’s mind, body and spirit while supporting their families and caregivers as well. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree- Nursing - Required
  • 1 year Acute Care or 2 years Long Term Care Experience - Required
  • Registered Nurse (RN)- State Licensing Board - Required
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)- American Heart Association - Required

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years- Hospice Care Experience - Preferred
  • Driver's License- Preferred
  • Auto Insurance- Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Function as a patient advocate.
  • Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
  • Collaborate with patients and their families, as well as members of a multidisciplinary team, to ensure optimal patient outcomes and enhancement of the patient experience.
  • Assess, collect, and analyze comprehensive objective, subjective, psychosocial, and cultural data pertinent to patient condition to determine the nursing diagnosis, patient needs and plan of care.
  • Develop an appropriate plan of care based on objective and subjective data, observations, and communications from patient and family and continuously review and revise the plan of care as patient condition warrants.
  • Prioritize and implement the identified plan, coordinate care delivery, employ interventions to improve patient outcomes while providing a safe, respectful, and ethical practice environment.
  • Promote patient independence by establishing patient care goals, teaching patients, friends, and families to understand the condition, medications, and self-care skills.
