About The Position

The Hospice House Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for delivering personal care services to patients in the Hospice House, ensuring their physical and emotional comfort. The CNA is responsible for assisting hospice patients with daily living activities and providing support to ensure their comfort, dignity, and quality of life during the end-of-life journey. As a member of the interdisciplinary teams, the CNA provides patient care and supportive services in accordance with the individual plan of care. The CNA works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent GED
  • Available to work evenings, nights, and weekends and flexible hours.
  • Must have reliable transportation and the ability to independently drive within Tri-Cities Chaplaincy’s service areas.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen which includes cannabis testing in Washington State.
  • Certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Safety (BLS)
  • Washington State Food Worker Card issued by the Department of Health
  • Ability to report to the assigned work location(s) as scheduled and maintain consistent, reliable attendance.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, as driving is an essential function of this role.
  • Meet insurance eligibility requirements
  • Strong communication skills to interact with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
  • Available to work holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English, with the ability to speak, read, write, and communicate effectively in both languages.
  • One year of CNA experience in hospice, home health, or long-term care settings.
  • Experience working with patients with chronic, terminal, or end-of-life care needs.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver personal care services to patients in the Hospice House.
  • Ensure patients' physical and emotional comfort.
  • Assist hospice patients with daily living activities.
  • Provide support to ensure patients' comfort, dignity, and quality of life.
  • Provide patient care and supportive services in accordance with the individual plan of care.
  • Work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
