About The Position

The Certified Nurse Assistant is responsible for providing direct patient/resident care and assistance in accordance with all applicable policies, procedures, regulations and nursing standards of care. This role supports Evelyn's House – Hospice Care, which is the newest addition to BJC Hospice and BJCs continuum of care for patients with life-limiting illness. Evelyn’s House staff are sensitive to the physical, psychosocial, emotional and spiritual needs of terminally ill adult and pediatric patients and their families. We provide a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals and volunteers, specially trained in pain and symptom management, counseling, and bereavement services for the dying. BJC Hospice services include alternative therapies such as music, art and massage therapy. BJC Hospice programs provide palliative care by helping patients manage their pain and symptoms while living their lives with daily peace and dignity.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• No Experience
• No Experience
• Automobile Insurance
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Certified Nurse Assistant
• Valid Driver's License

Responsibilities

• Obtains vital signs and other measurements as directed and documents findings promptly.
• Meets patient hygiene, comfort, nutrition, and hydration needs and documents as required.
• Recognizes and reports abnormal findings or changes in patient status to the nurse throughout entire shift.
• Implements care under the supervision of the nurse.or Primary Case Manager. In Home Health, this can be done with a RN/PT/OT or Speech Pathologist.
