Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in biblical studies, theology, counseling, psychology, social work or related degree.
  • Minimum of one-year of experience providing spiritual care, chaplaincy, pastoral care or counseling in a healthcare or hospice setting.
  • Clean driving record, and valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Board-certified chaplain and/or one or more CPE units.
  • Volunteer management, community outreach or related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct spiritual assessments and provide spiritual support to patients and families.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Plan and conduct rituals and ceremonies as appropriate.
  • Provide bereavement support to patients and families.
  • Engage in community outreach and education related to spiritual care.
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to support hospice patients and families.
  • Place and supervise volunteers, ensuring appropriate patient and family support.
  • Contribute to patient and family support services through volunteer coordination.
  • Engage in community outreach and engagement to promote volunteerism.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for volunteer activities.
  • Travel as necessary within the patient care area and specified area.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by leadership.
