About The Position

Alpha Home Health and Hospice is seeking an experienced Full-time Hospice Chaplain for our Hospice division in Snohomish County ! What does a Hospice Chaplain do? Chaplains provide spiritual and pastoral counseling to patients, families, or employees. Communicate plans to the registered nurse & the interdisciplinary group. Chaplains coordinate and plan religious services in conformance with the patient’s religious needs. Lead, coordinate, and inspire an interdisciplinary team in providing holistic end-of-life care. Ensures bereavement/spiritual assessment and services are rendered in timely manner. Provides bereavement support to hospice personnel Plans for Bereavement Program development, expansion, and refinement through annual evaluation of services. Actively participate in hospice quality assessment performance improvement teams. Counsel patient and family/caregivers with identified coping difficulties. Coordinate bereavement and volunteer services with all hospice staff.

Requirements

  • Theological education appropriate for chaplaincy is required (BD, MDiv, or equivalent theological degree).
  • Demonstrates good verbal/written communication, and organization skills.
  • Experience in a health care or hospice setting required.
  • Experience providing grief counseling to individuals and/or families.
  • Be a licensed driver with an insured automobile in good working order.
  • BLS certification required
