About The Position

The Hospice Chaplain assists patients and families in meeting their psychosocial, social, spiritual, and emotional needs during illness and death. This role within Franciscan strives to provide pastoral ministry through visitation, counsel, and support to patients and families, as requested. Requirements

Bachelor's Degree- Divinity, Theology, Religion or Christian Spirituality- Required
Auto Insurance- Required
Driver's License- Required
2 Years- Ministerial Experience- Required

Nice To Haves

Master's Degree- Divinity, Theology, Religion or Christian Spirituality- Preferred
Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)- Preferred
National Association of Catholic Chaplains Certification (NACC)- Preferred
1 Year- Hospice Experience- Preferred
1 Year- Healthcare Experience- Preferred

Responsibilities

Document patient care information, and ensure timely and accurate completion of patient care records in accordance with policies and procedures.
Function as a part of an interdisciplinary team providing hospice care to patient and families.
Provide a clinical basis to the ministry by sound, applied spiritual and psychological principles e.g. active listening, reflection, discussion, prayers
Respond promptly to calls providing spiritual and emotional support to patients/families.
Serve in an on-call rotation and provide patient support outside business hours.
