The Associate Hospice Physician is a Doctor of Medicine or osteopathy licensed to practice medicine in the State of Pennsylvania. The Hospice Physician, working in conjunction with the patient’s attending physician, is responsible for the palliation and management of the terminal illness and conditions related to the terminal illness. The Associate Hospice Physician is responsible for assisting the Medical Director in the administration of Lifesong Hospice and Palliative Care’s medical program and oversees the medical component of the hospice plan of care for each patient. The Associate Hospice Physician is responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise to the hospice IDT to provide the highest level of quality patient medical care and palliation. The Associate Hospice Physician will identify opportunities to improve care delivery, use resources effectively, and comply with legal, regulatory and clinical policies and procedures, and liaison with the local medical community.
