We are currently seeking a highly qualified and compassionate Hospice Aide to join our well-respected Waterloo office team. Job Overview Title: Hospice Aide (CNA) Location: Waterloo office ( may be assigned to help at any CVH location as needed) Job Schedule: Full Time (1.0 FTE), 40 hours per week Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm Cedar Valley Hospice offers flexible work arrangements to work around the needs of your family! Adjusted work hours are available. (Flexible work arrangements available after 90 day probation period. This position requires on-call rotation for weekends and holidays. Requirements

  • 75-hour CNA certification (must be active on the Iowa CNA Registry).
  • Current Iowa driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and car insurance.
  • Ability to read, write, and carry out directions, with or without accommodation.
  • Ability to provide physical cares independently in a home environment.
  • Respects confidentiality.
  • Ability to move 50lbs with or without accommodation.
  • Pre-employment/post-offer physical, TB, and drug screen required.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of CNA experience.
  • Experience providing hospice aide services in a home environment.
  • Experience working in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide physical cares, respite care, and light housekeeping duties to patients and families in a home or nursing home setting.
  • Observe changes in patient condition with communication of such changes to the primary RN or Clinical Services Manager.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe environment for patients, families, and staff.
  • Complete clinical documentation, including assisting with filing of medical records in patient charts.
