About The Position
As a Hospice Aide, you will provide personal care and comfort to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You’ll assist with daily living activities, observe and report patient conditions, and ensure a safe and supportive environment for patients and families.
Requirements
- Active Home Health Aide Certification through the California Department of Public Health
- Understanding of hospice philosophy and comfort with end-of-life care
- Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care
- Empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, and frail
- Current CPR certification
- Valid driver’s license and insured, reliable vehicle
Responsibilities
- Perform personal care needs promptly and respectfully
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
- Take and record vital signs as directed
- Provide skin care and prevent tissue breakdown
- Assist with ambulation and prescribed exercises
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the patient’s living area
- Offer respite care for families and caregivers
- Document care provided and observations accurately
