About The Position

Residential Home Health and Hospice is a nationally recognized leader in home health and hospice, and a consistent Top Workplace. We are hiring an After Hours Registered Nurse (RN) for a Hospice position providing end-of-life care to patients in their homes in the Mount Vernon, IL and Mount Carmel, IL area. This position is eligible for a $10,000 first year success bonus to reward the accomplishment of key milestones during your first year! Working hours for this position would be 7 days on Monday through Sunday , 5 PM to 8 AM followed by 7 days off.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse, RN license in the state you work
• Two years of RN experience and the clinical expertise to deliver quality patient care
• Current driver’s license and ability to spend ~20% of your day driving to/from patient locations

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a hospice setting, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team dedicated to comfort, dignity, and quality of life
• Respond to after-hours and on-call patient needs by performing urgent assessments, managing symptoms and pain, and providing compassionate end-of-life support in real time
• Support and guide patients and families during evenings, nights, weekends, and crisis situations, ensuring they feel informed, reassured, and cared for throughout the hospice journey
• Apply strong clinical judgment and critical thinking to coordinate care needs, respond to changing patient conditions, and maintain accurate, timely, and compliant EMR documentation
• Work independently, but never alone
• Travel to patient homes within assigned territory
