About The Position

As an admissions nurse at VITAS Healthcare, you will be the first face of hospice for patients and families. Your meeting will likely be the first time they have an in-depth discussion about end-of-life care, and your approach will set their expectations for the journey ahead. You will travel to meet with patients and families, educate them about the benefits of hospice care and the services offered by VITAS, and ask questions and listen with empathy to learn about each patient’s end-of-life needs, wants and beliefs. You will use this information to determine if hospice is the right path for the patient and ensure a comfortable transition for patients who elect to receive hospice care with VITAS. Working alongside your team, you will give your best each day in service of our core commitment: Delivering compassionate, personalized care with heartfelt empathy, honoring the wishes of each patient who entrusts VITAS with their end-of-life journey.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Reliable transportation
• Previous experience in a physician’s office, hospital, long-term care or assisted living facility

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree preferred
