About The Position

The City of Rockingham is seeking a Horticulturist Urban Forestry to join their Parks Services team. This role is responsible for delivering tree planting, establishment, and maintenance programs across the City. Key duties include formative pruning, vegetation management, species identification, pest and disease control, safe operation of plant and equipment, assisting with tree risk assessments, data recording, and maintaining safe work practices and customer service. Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in tree planting, establishment and ongoing care.
  • Demonstrated experience in formative pruning of juvenile trees.
  • Practical experience in tree species identification including Australian and Western Australian natives and exotic species suitable to the Perth climate.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team environment or able to work alone under direction.
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of WHS regulations including safe work practices relevant to horticulture and urban forestry operations.
  • Certificate III in Horticulture / Arboriculture (or equivalent demonstrated experience).
  • Current ‘MR’ class driver’s licence.
  • Construction Induction Training (White Card).
  • Basic Worksite Traffic Management Certificate (BWTM).
  • Chainsaw Operators Certificate.
