Position overview: The Horticulture Field Production Manager assists the Operations team to help ensure the successful completion of horticulture visits. Responsibilities include all aspects of horticulture including, but not limited to field coordination, field training, scheduling, material sourcing/procurement, job costing and can include actual performance of visits.

Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape field preferred but not required
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Basic computer skills
  • 3-5 years’ experience within the horticulture field at least a foreman/ crew leader level
  • Ability to read drawings and specifications
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Team player with positive attitude and proven ability to work hard in a fast-paced environment
  • Urgency to grow and improve
  • Outstanding attention to detail and an ability to prioritize and work on multiple tasks

Responsibilities

  • Coordination and management of field personnel as related to the Horticulture department.
  • General setup/ layout of horticulture visits to ensure project quality and accuracy as sold/requested by the Account Management team and expected by client.
  • Ability to perform horticulture visits under or at budgeted hours, cost, quantities, etc. as proposed.
  • Identifying, tracking, procuring, and job costing all necessary materials ensuring they arrive as needed and in line with the schedule and budget.
  • Management of all Horticulture field staff within RPM Branch. Additional assistance in management of other service lines within the department during times of need.
  • Communicating with in-house team as needed to ensure potential issues are quickly resolved.
  • Developing and maintaining positive management and field relationships and attitudes.
  • Administrative responsibilities include payroll and material/ sub contractor invoice/ receipt approval, scheduling, tracking backlog, communication with RPM employees, clients, GC’s, LA’s, etc.
  • Developing client relationships through being available for client and Landscape Architect requests, working collaboratively with outside parties to accomplish client goals and maintaining close communication across the in-house team.
  • Willingness to participate in winter snow removal preferred, but not required.
  • Ability and willingness to do other job functions as requested.
