About The Position

Southview Design is accepting applications for its Summer 2027 Internship Program. The program gives students in the landscape and horticulture industry firsthand experience in the green industry, builds working knowledge of landscape design-build-maintenance, and introduces interns to the overall operation of a successful landscape company.

The paid internship is an eight-week (60-day) training program in which interns rotate through different positions and departments, with rotations generally occurring every two weeks. The program includes field and office activities and engagement with Southview staff. Interns receive a mentor, feedback and performance evaluations, a safe work environment, and a cap, shirts, and pants for required field uniform use. At the end of the program, interns may choose an area to return to for their final week.

The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, up to 40 hours per week. Saturday or after-hours work may sometimes be needed, and overtime may be required when production or projects demand it. The posting lists a pay range of $21.00 per hour; the program description also says starting pay is between $20 and $21 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Work with Design Build landscape crews on project installations.
• Work with Irrigation on installations and service calls.

• Shadow a Landscape Care Representative.
• Shadow Design Associates on measures and design software.
• Shadow Designers and/or Architects.
• Shadow business activities, including accounting, marketing, and photography.
• Choose an area to return to for the final week of the internship.
