School of BTT Horticulture Adjunct Faculty (Part-Time)
About The Position
Virginia Western Community College is seeking part-time Horticulture Adjunct Faculty to teach college-level courses. These positions are appointed on a course-by-course, semester basis as needed. Instruction may be delivered in-person on the main Virginia Western campus, or through hybrid or distance learning/online formats. Courses to be taught include Plant Propagation, Landscape Plants, Pest Management, Soils, Greenhouse Management, and Management of a Horticulture Business. Faculty are expected to stay current in their teaching disciplines and in trends in community college education, and to be active participants in departmental communication.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Horticulture or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree in Horticulture or a related field with demonstrated experience.
- Experience in teaching or training.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: Plant Propagation, Landscape Plants, Pest Management, Soils, Greenhouse Management, Management of a Horticulture Business.
Nice To Haves
- Community college teaching experience.
- Experience with online or hybrid course delivery.
