About The Position

Ledcor Technical Services is seeking an experienced Horizontal Directional Driller specializing in utility construction and maintenance, with a strong background in telecommunications, to join their team in Ottawa, Ontario. The role involves safely and efficiently performing drilling operations to support the installation, repair, and upkeep of critical underground infrastructure, primarily for telecommunications networks. Requirements

• Must have previous directional drilling/locating experience
• Must have and maintain a valid AZ driver’s license
• Must have and maintain a clean driver’s abstract and CVOR
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in telecommunications is an asset

Responsibilities

• Performs box locating, directional drilling, installation of conduits for various cables, installation of pedestals and concrete bases, flush mount vaults and enclosures
• Safely operates directional drilling equipment and locating tools
• Coordinates drilling activities with other activities, positioning or moving of loads and conduct in response to hand or audio signals from team members
• Ensures health and safety is the number one goal by following policies, CVOR guidelines and always acting in a safe manner
• Completes all required paperwork daily
• Handles and distributes construction materials, loading and unloading vehicles with supplies, equipment, removes all debris from work sites
