Hood Technician
About The Position
The Hood Technician position is responsible for cleaning the grease off the cooking exhaust systems of commercial kitchens. This role also involves supervisory functions relating to crews. Requirements
- HS Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Leadership skills, ability to motivate, provide direction, required.
- Work with hand/power tools.
- Demonstrate critical/safety forward thinking skills.
- Collaborator and ability to work with all levels of employees.
- Strong diligence and accuracy.
- Ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English with employees and customers.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.
- Must be able to comply with SFS’s Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer specific requirements based on contractual agreement.
Nice To Haves
- Light mechanical ability, preferred.
Responsibilities
- Work after hours once facilities are closed, in and outside.
- Interact professionally with restaurant management and staff; be honest and trustworthy.
- Perform inspections, clean up, and some maintenance.
- Take photos of work.
- Drive to and from job sites and the shop.
- Fill out paperwork.
- Maintain truck and machine in working condition.
- Clean kitchen exhaust systems including fans.
- Work on roofs, clean filters, and use ladders and chemicals safely.
- Arrive at pre-scheduled appointments on time.
- Other duties as assigned.
