The Hood Technician position is responsible for cleaning the grease off the cooking exhaust systems of commercial kitchens. This role also involves supervisory functions relating to crews. Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Leadership skills, ability to motivate, provide direction, required.
  • Work with hand/power tools.
  • Demonstrate critical/safety forward thinking skills.
  • Collaborator and ability to work with all levels of employees.
  • Strong diligence and accuracy.
  • Ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English with employees and customers.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.
  • Must be able to comply with SFS’s Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer specific requirements based on contractual agreement.

Nice To Haves

  • Light mechanical ability, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work after hours once facilities are closed, in and outside.
  • Interact professionally with restaurant management and staff; be honest and trustworthy.
  • Perform inspections, clean up, and some maintenance.
  • Take photos of work.
  • Drive to and from job sites and the shop.
  • Fill out paperwork.
  • Maintain truck and machine in working condition.
  • Clean kitchen exhaust systems including fans.
  • Work on roofs, clean filters, and use ladders and chemicals safely.
  • Arrive at pre-scheduled appointments on time.
  • Other duties as assigned.
