Requirements

  • Grade 12 diploma
  • Equivalent machining background or mechanical aptitude.
  • Candidate must be able to pass Canadian Controlled Goods Assessment and criminal background check and be compliant with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
  • Exemptions to the Canadian government to grant temporary residents/international students access to their export controlled goods is required and takes a minimum of 2 months from offer acceptance for processing. This may delay start dates for candidates on temporary work permits.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate a minimum of one production process performing single and/or multiple functions, which may include CNC or manually controlled equipment.
  • Perform problem solving and troubleshoot to resolve production/process issues to meet required standards.
  • Responsible for quality and quantity of work produced by machine. Analyze machine problems and take corrective action in timely manner.
  • Required to perform inspection of own work using precision measuring equipment as provided or directed to assess quality of work.
  • Follow and accurately record data as directed or required in routers, IMS and any other production tracking systems.
  • Required to perform inspection of own work Certified Operator Program.
  • Required to train other operators as needed.
  • May be required to work in other departments or occasionally to set up a machine for others to operate.
  • Ability to read and interpret production prints.
  • Requires adequate computer skills to access production procedures to perform the required work.
  • Responsible for excellent housekeeping and maintaining 5S in all areas.
  • Meet the skill requirements identified in the applicable training matrix, and maintain certification through company.
