About The Position

The Honda Porter is responsible for maintaining a clear service drive and assisting with vehicle management within the Service Department. This role involves parking vehicles, moving disabled vehicles, and retrieving customer vehicles. The porter also plays a role in vehicle inspection for damage, both upon arrival and before return to the customer, and ensuring proper documentation and reporting of any issues. Additionally, the role includes preparing vehicles for service with protective covers and removing them upon completion. The approximate pay range for this position is $16.90-$17.00.

Requirements

Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
Ability to walk/stand for long periods.
Ability to work alone.
Flexible work schedule, as the dealership is open 6 days a week (Monday-Saturday).
Professional appearance and work ethic.
Effective interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to treat customers as the first priority at all times.

Responsibilities

Keep the service drive clear.
Park vehicles in assigned areas after service write-up and damage inspection.
Assist in moving disabled vehicles in or around the Service Department.
Retrieve customer vehicles from the parking lot when their bill is paid or as directed.
Inspect vehicles and record any existing damage on the repair order.
Deliver keys and repair orders to the appropriate workstation immediately after parking a vehicle.
Inspect each vehicle on the lot for damage that may have occurred during its stay in the Service Department.
Report any damage to management immediately.
Install disposable seat covers, steering wheel covers, floor mats, and ID tags in all vehicles taken in for service.
Remove protective covers and ID tags prior to returning a completed vehicle to a customer.
