The Homeschool Program Attendant is responsible for leading and supporting a physical education–based program designed for homeschooled children. This role focuses on promoting physical activity, healthy habits, teamwork, and social development through age-appropriate games, sports, and movement-based activities. The Homeschool Program Attendant creates a safe, positive, and engaging environment where participants can develop physical skills, build self-confidence, and learn the value of cooperation and respect.   • Plan, lead, and facilitate age-appropriate physical education activities for homeschooled children, including games, sports, and movement-based programming.
  • Promote physical activity, healthy habits, and overall wellness in a fun, engaging, and inclusive environment.
  • Foster social development by encouraging teamwork, cooperation, sportsmanship, and positive peer interactions.
  • Create and maintain a safe, welcoming, and structured program environment in alignment with YMCA policies and procedures.
  • Adapt activities to meet the developmental needs and abilities of participants, ensuring all children feel included and supported.
  • Model positive behavior and reinforce respect, confidence, and self-esteem among participants.
  • Monitor participant behavior and provide guidance to ensure a positive and respectful experience for all.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians and YMCA staff regarding program activities, expectations, and participant progress.
  • Assist with set-up, clean-up, and proper use of equipment and facilities.
  • Respond appropriately to incidents or emergencies and complete required documentation as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Current CPR/First Aid/AED Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • Experience in coaching or playing the sport is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work with children.
  • Solid understating of the rules, techniques, and strategies of the sport being coached and the ability to teach and demonstrate to young athletes.
  • Ability to lead, inspire, and motivate children to develop their skill, improve performance and foster a positive team atmosphere.
  • Recognized by others for sound character and strong moral values and personal ethics.
  • Ability to work as a team member and accomplish tasks with little direct supervision.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends.
