About The Position

This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: “Silo Ridge Field Club”, set in beautiful Amenia, New York. Silo Ridge Field Club is seeking a Seasonal Children’s Program Attendant to join our Outdoor Pursuits Department. This position will be available from June 15 – September 7, 2026. Silo Ridge Field Club is seeking a Children’s Program Attendant to join our team and support our Discovery Explorers program. This role is all about creating safe, memorable, high-quality experiences for our youngest members — through games, sports, crafts, outdoor adventures, and special events. You’ll be part summer program counselor, part activity leader, and part hospitality professional — helping children feel included, engaged, and excited, while making sure parents feel confident that their kids are in great hands. In this role, you will help bring the Discovery Land Company experience to life for our members, their families, and your teammates.

Requirements

  • Warm, energetic, and naturally great with kids.
  • Responsible, safety-focused, and dependable.
  • Creative and excited to lead games, crafts, and outdoor adventures.
  • Calm and confident in fast-paced environments.
  • A strong communicator who can interact professionally with parents, members, and staff.
  • Prior experience working with children (camp counselor, CIT, after-school programs, childcare, coaching, outdoor ed, etc.) strongly preferred.
  • CPR / First Aid / AED certification (or willingness to obtain) required.
  • Must be a strong swimmer, comfortable swimming in the lake.
  • Must have experience supporting children of varying ages in outdoor or active environments.
  • Flexible schedule required (including evenings, weekends, and holidays).
  • Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand/move for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stay calm, alert, and positive during busy periods.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English (additional languages a plus).
  • Comfortable pivoting between tasks and supporting department needs as assigned

Nice To Haves

  • Guest service / hospitality experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree not required (early childhood education or similar is a plus).
  • Candidates with special skills such as music, art, athletics, fishing, or outdoor instruction are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Jump into the action with kids ages 4–13 through games, sports, crafts, and outdoor activities.
  • Encourage participation, build connections, and create a welcoming, energetic environment.
  • Help facilitate special events and themed programs for kids and families.
  • Safety is always the #1 priority — actively supervise children, enforce rules kindly and clearly, and maintain a calm, structured environment.
  • Always Maintain strong awareness of the group (including around water).
  • Report any safety, behavioral, or maintenance concerns promptly to leadership.
  • Assist with daily set-up and breakdown of activities, following department SOPs.
  • Keep children’s program areas organized, clean, and “member ready” throughout the day.
  • Support inventory counts, equipment organization, and activity preparation.
  • Stay familiar with all programming and equipment and help demonstrate safe use when needed.
  • Safely transport children to and from activities across the property using a golf cart or ATV.
  • Occasionally accompany groups to off-site events and transport participants using a company vehicle.
  • Follow all company motor vehicle policies and all federal/state safety requirements.
