About The Position

Francis Parker School is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and passionate educator for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week, Monday-Friday) for a Homeroom Associate Teacher with experience in elementary classrooms. The role involves teaching lessons, collaborating with a classroom teacher and grade-level team on curriculum and instruction, and effective communication within the school community. Additional duties include supervision for carline, lunch duty, and recess. Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Education.
  • A teaching credential and/or current enrollment in a credentialing program.
  • Previous experience leading classroom instruction with elementary-aged children.
  • Exceptional writing skills and the ability to communicate professionally with students, parents, and colleagues.

  • Ability to organize tasks and manage time to meet many and varied deadlines.
  • High computer literacy with the ability to integrate educational technology into the classroom.

Responsibilities

  • Join the Lead Teacher in the daily delivery of lessons, leading small groups, and facilitating whole-class instruction.
  • Actively contribute to curriculum development and lesson design to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Maintain an abiding interest in the development of young learners, fostering an environment where every child feels capable and seen.
  • In partnership with the Lead Teacher, maintain a respectful, orderly classroom and follow classroom and school procedures as directed by the School to ensure student safety at all times.
  • In partnership with the Lead Teacher, maintain discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and positive learning environment for all students and staff in accordance with School policies.
  • Provide supervision for carline, lunch duty, and recess.
