The primary function is to provide personal assistance services to the patient in their place of residence, under the IDG Plan of Care. This role involves assisting in providing a safe and clean environment, working cooperatively with patients and families, and sharing observations and problems with the supervisor. The Homemaker promotes positive, supportive, and respectful communication, maintains patient confidentiality, and ensures a respectful environment for patients, their privacy, and property. Responsibilities include light housekeeping, laundry services, running errands, and assisting with meal preparation as outlined in the plan of care. The role requires the ability to report changes effectively to ensure continuity of care, practice accepted infection control principles, and maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for the patient. The Homemaker must be competent in performing assigned tasks according to agency policy, contribute to the efficient operation of the agency, and demonstrate effective time management. Commitment to professional growth and competency through in-service attendance is also expected, along with promoting the agency's philosophy and administration.
