About The Position
Right At Home In Home Care, located in Wallingford CT is currently seeking professional vaccinated Homemakers, HHA's, Companions, CNA's, & PCA's, to provide care to our elderly clients in the convenience of their homes. The ideal candidate should have 6 months or more of documented caregiving experience. Targeted areas: Wallingford, Meriden, Middletown, Southington, Cheshire, Waterbury, Naugatuck, Watertown, Woodbury, Plymouth, Terryville, and surrounding areas. Great opportunity for high school seniors, college students, retirees, and veterans.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Reliable Transportation
- Valid Driver's license and auto insurance
- High School diploma or GED
- Must have the ability to pass a full employment background check
- Must have basic computer skills and navigate with little assistance from others
- Must possess a valid driver's license and current automobile insurance
- Meets the requirements for employees providing direct patient care
- Must have successfully completed a Competency Evaluation that meets the State licensing law for home health agencies
- Current CPR Certificate is recommended
- 6 months experience as a Home Health Aide in health care (in homes or facilities) and successful completion of a State-approved Nurse Aide or Home Health Aide course.
Nice To Haves
- CNA or HHA Certification
- 6 months or more experience as a Caregiver/Home Health Aide in healthcare preferred
- CPR and First Aid Certification
- Covid Vaccination and ability to provide card
Responsibilities
- assistance with eating, personal hygiene, assistance with dressing, shaving, light housekeeping, laundry, and other household chores.
- prepare a good meal and work your way around a kitchen.
- medication reminders, assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises, dementia care, companionship activities such as reading, music, puzzles, etc.
