About The Position

This role involves providing essential support to elderly clients through light housekeeping, meal preparation, grocery shopping, and laundry services. The ideal candidate will be personable, organized, possess a strong work ethic, and demonstrate initiative in delivering quality customer service.

Requirements

• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to work during the day, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
• Must be reliable and able to keep a schedule
• Must be able to provide 2 employment references
• Must have a current TB Test
• Must have personal transportation

Responsibilities

• Perform light housekeeping duties including dusting, vacuuming, tidying rooms, spot cleaning walls and carpets, cleaning refrigerator interior and exterior, wiping stove tops, stove hoods, backsplashes, kitchen tables and countertops, washing dishes, emptying trash, sweeping/vacuuming and damp mopping kitchen and bathroom floors, cleaning bathroom fixtures, and making beds with fresh linen.
• Clean bathrooms by sweeping and damp mopping floors, cleaning medicine cabinet mirrors, and cleaning bathroom fixtures for the sink, toilet, bathtub, and shower. This includes cleaning the toilet, wiping down the toilet seat and base, and cleaning the tub, shower walls, and floors.
• Clean kitchens by cleaning refrigerator exteriors, wiping the stove, oven, hood and backsplash, cleaning the kitchen table and countertops, washing, drying and putting away dishes, stacking and emptying the dishwasher, cleaning the sink, cleaning kitchen cabinets, vacuuming or sweeping the kitchen floor, damp mopping the floor, and taking out the trash.
• Conduct grocery shopping for clients, including trips to the closest grocery store and/or food bank. This involves obtaining a shopping list and money/food card from the client, making purchases, returning to the client's home, putting groceries away, and providing the client with a receipt and any remaining change.
• Handle laundry by collecting and sorting dirty laundry, washing, drying, folding, returning clean laundry to the client's home, putting clean laundry in drawers, or arranging them on hangers in the closet.
• Prepare meals that can be completed in a short timeframe, such as sandwiches, soup, heating frozen dinners, scrambled eggs, toast, and salads.
