Homebound teachers at Special School District (SSD) support students who are unable to access services in a traditional school setting by providing individualized instruction through a compassionate, student-centered approach. In this role, you will serve students throughout St. Louis County, helping them continue learning and making progress while acting as a connection between home and school. Through collaboration with families, teachers, counselors, and administrators, you will develop and deliver programs that respond to each student’s unique needs and help ensure they remain supported, engaged, and connected to their education. Frequent collaboration with families, IEP case managers, classroom teachers, and counselors is required. Hours worked are determined by the Homebound department, and scheduling is mutually agreed upon between the Homebound teacher and the family. Instruction may be delivered on days, nights, and/or weekends.
