Requirements

  • Home Visitor CDA; or Associate or Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Social Services or related field
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and relate comfortably to young children and families.
  • Basic computer literacy skills.
  • Attention to detail, confidentiality, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive workplace and early childhood experience.
  • Successful completion of criminal record check, CPR/First Aid certification.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required for occasional travel between program locations.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Head Start or Early Head Start experience preferred
  • Previous home visiting experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Providing interim quality home visiting services for each participating family that provides opportunities designed to enhance the parent-child relationship, promote the development of parenting skills, and foster an environment in which the child can develop to his or her full potential.
  • Help plan group activities and educational opportunities for parents.
  • Providing weekly home visits for home-based families.
  • Plans developmentally appropriate curriculum in collaboration with parent during weekly home visits for parent to engage child in activities designed to enhance the parent/child relationship and promote the child’s growth and development.
  • Provides support to families through sharing information about appropriate resources and supporting families through the referral process.
