Home Visitor, Family Child Care Network
About The Position
The Family Child Care Network Home Visitor plays a critical role in supporting affiliated Family child care Educators through coaching, monitoring, technical assistance, and relationship-building. Home Visitors conduct regular announced and unannounced visits to ensure compliance with New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS), Department of Mental Health and Hygiene (DOHMH), New York City Public Schools Early Childhood Education, Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), and WHEDco program requirements. The Home Visitor works collaboratively with Family child care Educators to improve program quality, strengthen family engagement, promote children's healthy development, and support continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
- Associate degree or Child Development Associate (CDA) credential required.
- Minimum of two years of experience in early childhood education, family child care, home visiting, or a related field.
- Knowledge of child development from birth through age five.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic data management systems.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Human Services, Education, or related field preferred.
- Experience with Department of Mental Health and Hygiene regulations, Family Child Care Networks, OCFS regulations, NYC Public Schools Early Childhood Education requirements, and CACFP preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct scheduled and unscheduled visits to affiliated family child care Family Child care Educators.
- Build positive relationships with Family child care Educators through strengths-based coaching.
- Provide individualized technical assistance to improve instructional quality, health and safety practices, and classroom environments.
- Support Family Child care Educators in implementing curriculum, developmentally appropriate practices, and family engagement strategies.
- Assist Family Child care Educators in preparing for regulatory reviews and monitoring visits.
- Monitor compliance with OCFS regulations, Department of Mental Health and Hygiene regulations, NYC Public Schools Early Childhood Education policies, CACFP requirements, and WHEDco/Home based Child Care procedures.
- Complete monitoring reports accurately and submit on a weekly basis.
- Develop corrective action plans and monitor compliance.
- Maintain accurate electronic documentation using agency data systems.
- Ensure required provider documentation remains current and complete.
- Upload monitoring reports to our internal drive monthly.
- Support parents by conducting developmental screenings as needed.
- Assist Family child care Educators with CACFP enrollment, monitoring visits, and documentation.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, provider recruitment, onboarding, and family engagement events.
- Carry a caseload of 30 providers
