About The Position

Prep Academy Tutors of Boise is a private in-person tutoring company that delivers flexible and personalized tutoring programs. They specialize in all subject areas and cater to students from age four to twenty. They hire certified teachers or those in the process of completing their degree in Education and pay higher than the industry average. This role involves providing academic support to students based on expertise and knowledge of the Idaho curriculum, with a focus on elementary education and multiple subject areas. The tutor will provide supplemental assignments and curriculum-based materials, as well as homeschool, remedial, enrichment, and curriculum development support. Communication with parents or guardians regarding student progress and educational goals is also a key part of the role.

Requirements

• Availability during morning or daytime hours.
• Expertise or strong familiarity with elementary education and multiple subject areas, including math, science, reading, writing, and language arts.
• Energetic and enthusiastic teachers with experience teaching elementary-aged students.
• Committed to providing excellent customer service.
• Enjoy working with students & families.
• Great communication skills.
• Located in the Caldwell/Nampa area or willing to travel more than 20 minutes to an assignment.
• Hold a registration in good standing with the Idaho Department of Education.
• Qualified to teach elementary education or multiple subjects.
• A current teacher candidate; pursuing a bachelor of education.
• Experience developing curriculum or providing homeschool instruction.
• Experience as a lecturer/course instructor at an accredited University or College.
• An advanced degree with at least one year of tutoring experience.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with homeschooling, curriculum development, or creating individualized learning plans is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support to students based on expertise and knowledge of the Idaho curriculum, with a focus on elementary education and multiple subject areas.
