About The Position

The Home Infusion Nurse utilizes the nursing process to care for and/or educate individuals in the promotion and maintenance of health. This role requires systematic critical-thinking to guide data gathering, assessment, and nursing judgment. The nurse is responsible for coordinating and managing aspects of infusion nursing care as ordered by the physician, delivering care in collaboration with the patient, their family, and all members of the health care team. Key responsibilities include submitting required documentation of care within the required timeframe, participating in interdisciplinary collaboration, and communicating urgent clinical findings promptly. The nurse must maintain annual competencies, uphold patient and organizational data privacy, and foster a non-discriminatory, socioculturally sensitive work environment. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrate strong work ethics, and provide excellent customer service is essential. This role involves travel to an assigned territory, availability for on-call responsibilities, and maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor. A complete understanding of confidentiality, HIPAA guidelines, and company proprietary information is required.

Requirements

  • Current, active, and in good standing registered nurse license in the state of employment.
  • Experience administering infusion therapy in a home, hospital, or clinical setting.
  • Must have current CPR certification.
  • Must be able to lift 10 pounds.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License.
  • May be required to operate a motor vehicle in adverse weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric, ER, and/or medical surgical experience, a plus.
  • 3-5 years experience in homecare is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care in collaboration with the patient, their family, and all members of the health care team.
  • Submits required documentation of care within required time frame including initial assessments, visit encounters, and patient education.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary collaboration and communicates urgent clinical findings in a timely manner.
  • Maintains annual competencies.
  • Maintains privacy, security, and confidentiality of patient, staff, and organizational data.
  • Fosters a non-discriminatory work environment in which care and services are delivered in a sociocultural sensitive manner.
  • Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision, while demonstrating strong work ethics to meet goals and provide stellar customer service to patients.
  • Travel to assigned territory as needed with willing flexibility to meet patient needs.
  • Availability for assisting with On-Call responsibilities, as needed.
  • Display neat, clean, professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Complete understanding of confidentiality with respect to Company proprietary information as well as information concerning patient/client care; complying with all federal and state laws as apply to confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) and electronic protected health information (EPHI); and following HIPAA guidelines regarding readily identifiable protected health information.
