About The Position

We are hiring a Home Improvement Sales Trainer to build and lead the sales team for our newly opened Charlotte office, the first Improveit market outside of Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee in 37 years. This role is responsible for the initial three-week training of new hires, turning them into Design Consultants. The trainer will prepare, facilitate, and assess all trainees, making the final decision on who is ready to engage customers. Additionally, the trainer will manage the end-to-end onboarding experience, collaborating with HR and IT to ensure new representatives have a seamless start. Performance in the field by the trainer's graduates will be the primary measure of success. As Charlotte is a new market, every salesperson will receive their training directly from this role.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Sales Management, Sales Training, Learning & Development, or Adult Education
  • 5+ years of experience in the home remodeling industry
  • Demonstrated success selling home improvement products
  • Knowledge of residential construction, preferably windows, kitchens, or bathrooms
  • Proficiency in modern sales techniques and strategies
  • High proficiency in training, specifically adult education and sales concepts
  • High proficiency in coaching, providing both high support and high challenge in a learning environment
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to assess and educate people from a wide range of backgrounds and experience levels
  • Strong technical acumen with software and apps, specifically the Microsoft 365 Suite and Canva
  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and accuracy

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Education, or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Own onboarding for every new Outside Sales rep, including paperwork, class scheduling, sales kits, hotel arrangements, and system logins.
  • Communicate class details and answer questions for new hires prior to their start date.
  • Partner with IT to ensure all technology, including iPads, is ready for training.
  • Partner with HR to ensure all onboarding paperwork is completed promptly.
  • Facilitate the three-week Outside Sales initial training using Improveit’s Pillars of Training and the IHR Sales System.
  • Prepare Learner’s Guides for each class.
  • Assess each trainee and determine readiness for field deployment, collaborating with the Sales team.
  • Build Initial Training Reports for Sales Leadership on graduating reps.
  • Keep Outside Sales leadership informed of each new hire's progress during training.
  • Assist in facilitating and overseeing the 12-week new rep development program, including field ride-alongs.
  • Facilitate cross-training for current reps on additional product lines.
  • Help Learning & Enablement leadership create new training content and update existing materials.
  • Facilitate Bootcamps and small-group training sessions in various offices.
