About The Position

Capitol View Home Health Care is seeking compassionate and motivated Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) / Speech Therapists for PRN home health opportunities throughout Washington, DC. Requirements

  • Active Washington, DC Speech-Language Pathologist License Required
  • Master's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Strong assessment and treatment skills
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities
  • Ability to work independently in patients' homes
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel between assigned patient locations

Nice To Haves

  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) Preferred
  • Home Health Experience Preferred, but Not Required

Responsibilities

  • Complete comprehensive speech and language evaluations in patients' homes
  • Assess communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals
  • Provide treatment for speech, language, voice, and communication disorders
  • Evaluate and treat dysphagia and swallowing difficulties
  • Address cognitive-communication challenges involving memory, attention, problem-solving, and executive functioning
  • Help patients develop strategies to improve functional communication
  • Provide patient-specific exercises and therapeutic interventions
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on communication and swallowing strategies
  • Monitor progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate
  • Complete reassessments and discharge planning
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, PTs, OTs, MSWs, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
  • Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation
