This role involves planning, organizing, and delivering physical therapy programs to help clients/patients/residents recover and improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and prevent deformities. The therapist will conduct examinations, evaluations, and interventions for individuals affected by injury or disease, utilizing appropriate tools and techniques while adhering to safeguards. Documentation of client information, establishment and modification of therapeutic plans, and education of clients/patients/residents and their families on treatment plans and home exercises are key components. The position requires knowledge of age-related treatments and evaluations, incorporation of current research into daily practice, and the ability to treat individuals of all ages with varying diagnoses and disorders. The role also involves demonstrating documentation in accordance with departmental guidelines and meeting regulatory requirements, adhering to accepted clinical practice guidelines, and exhibiting flexibility with variable work schedules and assignments. Participation in departmental promotion activities and interaction with external individuals and organizations are expected. There may be opportunities to supervise assistants, aides, and students, and to provide ongoing education and training to peers in areas of expertise. Depending on facility needs, the focus may be on interventions in post-acute, long-term care, and home health care environments.
