About The Position

BrightStar Care of Hunterdon County is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with Critical Care, Trach, and Ventilator experience for an immediate overnight PRN home health opportunity. This position involves providing skilled tracheostomy and ventilator care in the patient's home, monitoring their respiratory status, administering medications, and educating the patient and family. The role requires strong clinical assessment, communication, and organizational skills, with a focus on compassionate, one-on-one critical care.

Requirements

Current, valid New Jersey RN license
Minimum 2 years of RN experience
Minimum 2 year of ICU/Critical Care experience
Minimum 2 years of Trach and Ventilator experience
Current driver's license and reliable vehicle with auto insurance
Strong clinical assessment, communication, and organizational skills
Compassionate, dependable, and able to work independently as well as part of a care team

Responsibilities

Provide skilled tracheostomy and ventilator care in the patient's home
Monitor and manage the patient's mechanical ventilator and respiratory status
Perform trach care, suctioning, and airway assessment as needed
Monitor for changes in respiratory status and respond promptly to alarms or complications
Assess lung sounds, oxygen saturation, vital signs, and overall patient condition
Administer medications and treatments as ordered
Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in the patient's condition
Maintain emergency preparedness and follow the patient's respiratory care plan
Provide education and support to the patient and family/caregivers
Accurately document assessments, interventions, medications, and patient responses
Communicate changes in condition with the appropriate healthcare team
Provide compassionate, one-on-one critical care while maintaining patient safety and comfort
